NC Golf History Quiz
*all golfers mentioned herein
are native North Carolinians or played their college golf in NC.
Some are male and some are female.
1) Name the NC golf legend who, in 1947, raised $5000.00 for the
March of Dimes during the height of the polio epidemic by playing
golf cross country from Lexington, NC to the Thomasville Golf
Course in a neighboring city....a distance of 10 miles?
(Give yourself bonus points if you can name the total number of
strokes required to accomplish the task. He was allowed to tee up on
every shot except those that found water or ditches. On these shots,
he had to take penalty strokes.)
